Overrall Reflection

This programme has taught me on how to create a blogshop and at the same time make money from a blog by placing advertisements on it. It has also allowed me to communicate better with others by working in a group.

Day 4

The day started off with a presentation on "Protecting people and Information - Threats and safeguards"which covered Intellectual Property, Privacy, viruses and security measures. After tea break, we took the quiz that was mentioned the previous day, some people hesitated as they did not studied for it. In the end, everyone did generally well for the quiz. After lunch, the rest of the time was left for us to do our project, which includes finishing our blogshop, a 1000 word report and powerpoint slides which we have to present to the whole class the next day.

Day 3

We were asked by the lecturer (Mr Tan) on our thoughts of the field trip to City Plaza the previous day, he then briefed us on how we should go about doing our blogshops. Right after tea break, we were given a presentation on Databases and how to create them using a software called Microsoft Access. The presentation continued right after lunch and we were given the remaining time to do our project after it ended. We were also notified of a Multiple choice question (MCQ) quiz that was going to take place the next day which comprised of 30% of our grade.

Visit to City Plaza

Where we went

We went to City Plaza, a 'wholesale' market located near Paya Lebar MRT to get information about the shops there as well as pictures to update on our group blog.

What we did

We went around the place inquiring about what the shops there sell and how much do they cost. We jotted down the information and with the permission of the shop owners, we also took some pictures of the products they were selling.

What you saw

Most of the shops were mostly selling female apparel, there was hardly any male apparel in sight at the place. The Plaza seems to be quite rundown and old and most of the shopkeepers were old.

What you think

I felt that this trip was a good experience for us. Some of the shopkeepers were not so keen as to allow us to take pictures of their shops/products.
